Smart Rules plugin makes it easy for you to gain more control over your Helpdesk system, extend its functionality and increase overall efficiency. You can define rules/conditions to identify a set of new tickets and perform automated actions on them.

Smart Rules plugin is priced at $69.95 and requires Helpdesk Pilot 4.2.0 or above.

How does Smart Rules Work

  1. The system administrator chooses one or a set of conditions from an available list of parameters that applies to New tickets in the system, to define the rule.
  2. The appropriate action to be performed on tickets matching this rule is then defined by the system administrator.
  3. The execution of the rules can be set up as a cron and executed periodically to ensure that all the rules are applied to the respective tickets in the system.
The rules can be drafted based one or any of the following parameters:

  • Priority
  • Time
  • Day
  • Department
  • Message
  • Subject

The corresponding actions that can be performed:

  • Assign to
  • Call an external script (php or shell script)
  • Change Priority
